ইংরেজি ভাষা আজকের বিশ্বায়িত যুগে যোগাযোগের অন্যতম প্রধান মাধ্যম। আধুনিক শিক্ষাব্যবস্থায় ইংরেজির গুরুত্ব অপরিসীম। দেশের শিক্ষার্থীদের আন্তর্জাতিক যোগ্যতা অর্জন এবং বুদ্ধিবৃত্তিক বিকাশে ইংরেজি ভাষার দক্ষতা অর্জন অত্যাবশ্যক। বিশেষ করে নবম ও দশম শ্রেণির দাখিল স্তরের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণ ও রচনার দক্ষতা গড়ে তোলা তাদের শিক্ষাজীবনের অন্যতম মাইলফলক।
এই ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণ ও রচনা বইটি কোরআন ও হাদিসের শিক্ষার সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে নবীজির জীবন ও শিক্ষার নৈতিক মূল্যবোধের প্রতিফলন ঘটাতে বিশেষভাবে সাজানো হয়েছে। এতে শিক্ষার্থীরা ইংরেজি ভাষার মৌলিক ব্যাকরণ, শব্দভাণ্ডার, বাক্য গঠন এবং বিভিন্ন রচনা বিষয়াবলী সহজ ও স্পষ্ট ভাষায় আয়ত্ত করতে পারবে।
বইটি শিক্ষার্থীদের পরীক্ষার জন্য প্রস্তুতি নেয়ার পাশাপাশি ভাষার প্রাত্যহিক ব্যবহারেও আত্মবিশ্বাসী করে তুলবে। এতে দেওয়া হয়েছে বর্ণমালা থেকে শুরু করে, Parts of Speech, Tense, Active-Passive Voice, Direct-Indirect Speech, Sentence Construction এবং Paragraph Writingসহ রচনার নানা প্রয়োগমূলক টেকনিক।
আমরা আশা করি, এই বইটি শিক্ষার্থীদের ইংরেজি ভাষার প্রতি আগ্রহী করে তুলবে, তাদের দক্ষতা উন্নত করবে এবং তারা দাখিল পর্যায়ের ইংরেজি পরীক্ষায় সফলতা অর্জন করবে।

The textbooks of secondary level have been written and compiled according to the revised curriculum 2012 in accordance with the aims and objectives of National Education Policy-2010. Contents and presentations of the textbooks have been selected according to the moral and humanistic values of Bengali tradition and culture and the spirit of Liberation War 1971 ensuring equal dignity for all irrespective of caste and creed of different religions and sex.
Communicative grammar is a comparatively new trend in English language teaching. I believe, the new communicative grammar series for grades 6-10 will work for the intended curriculum and appear as substantial reference books in English language. In fact, the main difference between a conventional grammar book and communicative one lies in its approach. While a conventional grammar book appears as a reference book to explain rules, and show usage; a communicative grammar deals with practice creating opportunities to use language accurately.
